Very lazy day!

This was an 8 month overland extravaganza - from Peru, working around in a loop to Venezuela via Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil. Some was on GAP Adventures trips, other sections were independent - our biggest trip yet! Highlight was Melissa getting to visit her Uruguayan host family, from her year as an AFS exchange student in 1987 - the first time we'd been together in 21 years! (Also a fabulous 4 days in LA on the way home, shop away!)

Very lazy day!

Did very little today, Noel was really unwell so we ended up paying the extortionate sum of US$82 to keep our room until we left on the nightbus so that he could try and sleep off his sinus/eye infection.  It worked, because he was looking much better thi evening!  Melissa wandered around town for a bit with some girls from the group and had lunch in a little cafe (and yes, she did remember to take Noel some food as well) before heading back to nurse the invalid.  We left on the night bus at 7.30pm for our 16 hour trip to La Serena, down the Chilean coast.  Saw a lovely sunset and wonderful mountain views over the desert as we headed south.
