Our hotel room at the Tropicana. Very nice!
So for the second year in a row we have come to Atlantic City for some gambling and to celebrate my hubby's birthday. As usual we are staying at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino. This time we got an upgrade to the Havanna Tower which was nice though it was pretty far from the parking garage. We used the self parking garage since we usually don't take the car anywhere when we come here. It's also pretty cheap, $5 is not bad. I've been to places that have just been outrages with their parking. Located on the boardwalk you can easily get to the other casinos on the strip. Our room was a corner room with the view of the side alley and the boardwalk and beach. So not too bad. The city itself looks gray in gray but that could also be because we always come here in November.

:-) So we packed away the breakfast stuff that we had brought with us from Brooklyn. Or that was forced on us by relatives so we wouldn't spend too much money on hotel food. (Thanks mum-in-law)
The second time around was a LOT easier to find our way around the hotel. It's huge and you can get lost easily, well not really lost, you just won't find what you are looking for. The hotel personal is very nice though and they will help you out! So we began our gambling spree at the Tropicana and won quiet a bit. But my hubby likes to change locations, plus we were in desperate need of a cigarette, since they have done away with smoking since last year. Which in my opinion is not a big deal, because that will slow me down a bit. However there are smoking areas still left in the casino but they are in secluded areas. So out we went to the boardwalk in the late afternoon and started making our way down to the other casinos. There's a lot of guys with those little trolleys that will let you sit in them and they will pull you around. Avoid eye contact and keep walking if that's not your thing. Or if you are a sucker like me you will politely smile and say "No, thanks" and then they won't leave you alone. Well, so we usually stop inside the Wild wild west Casino for a drink or two. We just like because it has a real casino feel to it or as we would imagine it was back in the day. Other really nice places are the Trump Taj Mahal or Caesar's.
