Me and the Osbourne's

This was my last day in NYC on this trip. My hubby had left earlier this day cause he had to go back to work. My mother in law took me out for a night in the city.
We had tickets to see "Mamma Mia" but were in the city way to early. We had dropped off hubby at Penn Station at 2pm, so we had the entire afternoon to kill before we could go to our show. Boy, it was a cold March day in New York City. The wind was blowing down the streets, not a good day to be outside for a long period of time.
So we went to Madame Tussuad's Wax Museum located on 42nd Street, between 7th and 8th Avenue.  I had already been to the Madame Tussuad's  in Amsterdam the year before and figured it would be the same thing, but I wanted my mum in law to see it as well.
We slowly made our way through the museum.

Can you smell what the Rock is cooking??
Even though it was a cold day it was surprisingly empty. We didn't have to fight to get to see any of the wax figures which was great. There are actually a lot more figures in this museum than the one in Amsterdam and they keep adding more a few times a year. Only a couple of months later they revealed the wax figures of "Pirates of the Caribbean" so I guess I'll have to come here again. grrrrrr
After my mum in law and I posed with at least every other "celebrity" we got towards the end of the museum. Before heading back out in the cold we decided to go for dinner before seeing the show. It was 5 pm and the perfect time to go to "The View". NO, not the TV show. ;-)
The View restaurant is located on one of the top floors in the Times Square Marriott Marquis. We were lucky and did not have to wait on the elevator or a table.
Woody Allen
We sat right at the window overlooking the city. Since I've already wrote a review about this place I'll keep this short. Buffet food + Manhattan view, spectacular! :-)
We killed some time up here and at 7pm headed to "Mamma Mia".  My mum in law had her heart set on going to a show with me so I mainly went to make her happy. I actually had a really good time. I knew most of the songs from the radio and the show itself was entertaining too. How they built the storyline around the ABBA songs was funny. There were a bunch of people screaming for encore after the show was over. I wouldn't mind seeing it again!
After the show we walked back to Times Square since I had never seen it at night. Again, amazing!!
We took the subway back to Brooklyn and that's the end of this adventure. :-)
