Birthday bash in the mountains

My two friends celebrated their 30th birthday in the mountains. It was a sequal to their 18th birthday bash, a few years ago. ;)
Hicking up from the Spatenau parking lot only took about 20 minutes, not rushing. We arrived at the cabin (Kolpinghuette) not all that tired. The cabin had to be aired out first, because of the "Plumpsklo" (toilet without a flush, just a pit). Not as bad as it sounds. There's a wash room with one long sink and running ice cold water. Nothing gets ya going in the morning, quite like a splash of fresh alps water. ;)
We drank lots of beers over the weekend and had great food, prepared in the wooden stove. That's why grandma's food tasted so much better. Can't fake that taste. The heat was a unwanted side effect, since the weather was gorgeous the whole time.
We did one short hike up to the "Doaglalm", which only took another 20 minutes. All we could handle with the hangover from the night before. We each had a "Radler" (half beer half lemonade), best drink to have when you're thirsty. The food was great too. Some real Alm classics, Reiberdatschi (hashbrowns), Currywurst, Kaiserschmarrn (pancake dough chunks, with apple sauce) and Gulash soup.
The bunk beds didn't bother anyone, since we were too tired every night anyways. Earplugs where the best thing I brought, cause sharing a bedroom with 8 (drunk) other people is never like sleeping alone.
