Taking in the Strip (Hotel from outside)

No tours or anything today, so did the tourist bit on foot.

We walked the strip .... gobsmacked by the sheer size of everything and the volume of people!  By mid-morning/lunch time it is wall-to-wall people - no one goes anywhere in a hurry on the side-walks!

We did the touristy pictures bit, bought some souvenirs (naturally) and had lunch in an Aussie restaurant (manned by Americans - go figure!!), and are now thoroughly knackered.  Have returned to the hotel to have a rest up - we have the Circe de Soleil show tonight which we are looking forward to.

Arrived at the Mirage where we had passes (freebies!) to Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garde and vouchers for a free cocktail - oh yes, taking advantage of that one!  The garden was quite nice, it houses dolphins and all their "white" specimens - tigers, leopards, elephants, etc.

Had our free drink and headed to Treasure Island where the show was on.  Italian again for dinner tonight - pity we didn't have more time to spend.

Arrived for the theatre - ran into our first major hiccup - they said the vouchers we had only reserved the seating and we had to pay for them there and then - so our troubles begat new troubles - we thought everything had been paid for at home.

We had no ID with us, however, they rang NY, NY and confirmed we were staying with them.  We couldn't charge to our room because when we checked in the girl said she didn't need the credit card as all was prepaid (strange - everybody else did).  I didn't take the credit card with me, but had some cash, so together we managed to scrape up the US$190 we needed.  This meant we had to walk all the way back to our hotel, because we didn't have money for a cab!!  That's holidays ... and Vegas!!

The show was wonderful, however, so was worth the hassle.  After a very warm walk back - with about a billion other people on the streets, we will be grateful to put our heads down and get some sleep.  Although we do have to get up at 3:30 am - we are off on our Grand Canyon Tour!!
