Took a trip to the Isla de Domas with Elquivalley tours situated opposite the cathedral in the playa d armas.
This is part of the reserva Nacional Pinguino de humboldt, which needs no trqanslation for us more fluent spanish speakers !!!
The trip was well organised and our guide was very informative, had a greay conversation about "the Cure" of all things, i'm sure they will be pleased to know they are big in chile !!!
We took a minibus to Punta de Choros a small fishing village consisting of a few residences where the boats leave for the island, you get to see dolphins on the way, there were also sea lions, heaps of birds, penquins shence the reserves name and a sea otter. Perhaps having seen penquins and dolphins elsewhere i should big up the sea otter sighting !!! However it was only a glimpse !!!
Had an hour in the sun on the beach, walked up the hill to take the obliquatory picture, got chatting to other Chilean holiday makers who were quite shocked that someone from London should be in this part of the world !!
Stopped off for a lunch on the way back. The whole trip took including travelling time about 10 hours.
An evening stroll around La serena and back to the hostel for more tea !!
