The best gelato during my trip!! Nocciola and cinnamon (extra bonus: the cinnamon sprinkles)

So my 16-day adventure in Spain and Italy is coming to end...this is my last night in Rome :(   I have had the time of my life and am sad to see it end.  Back to the routine of NYC....

All of the cities that welcomed me -- Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Torino, Florence, and Rome...I have loved each and every city, whether it was my first time there or a return visit.  I spent my time in Spain with my sister, and then I made my first solo trip ever to Italy.  And no trip of Rachel's is EVER complete without a lot of mishaps....getting lost numerous times, almost missing my train to Torino, actually missing my train to Florence, getting gelato'ed out, losing a cell phone, the wooing Italian casanovas, language barriers, Rome Metro-bus strikes, being scared, shy, and lonely but telling myself to get the f*** over it because I am in Italy for goodness sake, those were just a few of my mishaps.

..even with those, I wouldn't have changed a thing.  I have had an amazing adventure, both with my sister and as a solo traveler (something I highly recommend).  It breaks my heart to leave but it just gives me more of an incentive to travel more and hopefully come back :)

I will leave you with these quotes...

"Each, in its own way, was unforgettable. It would be difficult to - Rome! By all means, Rome. I will cherish my visit here in memory as long as I live." -- Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday, when her character was asked which city she loved best (I think mine on this trip is Madrid, but I have grown to love Rome this time around)

"Seems I had it all wrong.  It turns out you'll go somewhere new and meet people who'll make you feel worthwhile again.....we're going to celebrate being young and being alive." -- from the upcoming movie, The Holiday

Hopefully I will get to update this when I get back into the old NYC routine and upload some photos...although  didn't take too many in Italy 'cause I took so many the last time I was here in February....arrivederci!! :( :)
