Heathrow as seen from my bus ride to Gatwick.
I left Chicago on Christmas day, in the late evening, arriving at London Heathrow in the late morning of December 26 - Boxing Day. My flight to Vilnius left from Gatwick though, scheduled for about six hours after my arrival at Heathrow. I grabbed a bus to Gatwick, got checked in, and had a meal. After this point, I figured I had about 3 hours to get some reading done, so crossed through security and had a seat ... and noticed that my flight had been delayed by about an hour. And later, another hour, and another ... ultimately it ended up leaving about six hours late! Thankfully I was able to get a hold of my friend Ieva (the person I was meeting and staying with in Lithuania) to let her know I'd be late - she had convinced a friend to drive her to Vilnius Airport to pick me up (about an hour and a half from where she lived in Kaunas), now obviously they had to leave a lot later. Because of the delay, I got a voucher for £5 at any food place in Gatwick, but seeing it was Boxing Day, most places were closed, so that meant a BigMac for dinner. I sat a lot that evening. :D
Ultimately I arrived in Vilnius safely, but technically that's tomorrow's entry, so ...
