My dad lives in Terrassa, Spain so I went to visit him over the holidays. I spent my time meeting my extended family which was less than fun. But we also went up to the Pyrenees to ski and spent some time in Barcelona.

If you're spending winter in the Pyrenees, you are probably going there to ski. I had wanted to go to the mountains because of the lack of snow in my life, but I was disappointed to see that there was not even snow in the towns high up in the mountains.
Although the ski areas rely mostly on artificial snow, it's refreshing to go for a day or two. Masella was packed with people, it wasn't so much that you couldn't navigate on the slopes, but the cafe area and the bottoms of the hills were so full of people I had to take off the skis to walk around.
This is not such a good spot to go if you want to do some intense skiing, it is more for people with children or who don't know too much about skiing. I hadn't gone in a few years, so I felt that this was just my level!
There was only one slope that I could use without buying an expensive pass, but it was fine.
