Pics from the Youyangs

Victoria Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

These are a few pics from our day at the Youyangs (I said they were the Dandenongs - that was incorrect sorry!). Can't remember exactly when this was so I made up the date.

The You Yangs Regional Park

The You Yangs is a really pretty nature reserve, very rugged with amazing views from the top. It's being used as a set for Tom Hanks and Steven Speilberg's latest mini-series and follow-up to Band of Brothers,  The Pacific.

Taken from Wikipedia:

The You Yangs are a series of granite peaks that rise dramatically near Lara, Victoria in the Werribee Lava Plains in Australia, located 22 km north of Geelong and approximately 55 km south-west of Melbourne.

Although only 352 m in height, they dominate the landscape and are clearly identifiable from nearby Geelong, Melbourne and beyond.

The You Yangs is home to more than 200 bird species as well as Kangaroos, Sugar gliders, Possums and Koalas.
