Game day - Socceroos vs Croatia, we wandered the Stuttgart suburbs in the morning, Hame made his very first decision of the trip when choosing where find a coffee shop, I'm still pretty sure he just followed a chalk arrow on the sidewalk, so borderline for whether that counts :)
jumped a bus to the city and had wine at the local wine stalls. Met up with Funky and his family and saw Tim bohm from Canberra
Went out to the Schloss garten beer garden for the first game on TV (Italy vs Ghana I think?), also met up with the Vanzwans and Piffers (footballer from Canberra). Anth had kindly let the Vanzwans sleep in his room that night.
There was some talk about going to the Mercedes museum since it was near the stadium, but I just couldn't understand why it was when there was this once in a lifetime atmosphere in the city, you would want to go in to a quiet museum and look at cars. I was adamanat I wasn't going but other could if they wanted. I think the excitement of the day gradually leeched in to everyone and this silly museum talk soon stopped.
As for the game, talk about a rollercoaster of emotions for this one, I'll let pictures tell the story here. I was pleasantly surprised (it's a few weeks on now) to read in the english newspapers that the Aussies took out chant of the tournament for the, as always subtle, rendition of "You´re sh*t, but your chicks are hot", "You´re sh*t, but your chicks are hot" :)
