The first thing on our list of things to do in Montreal was to have a smoke meat sandwich at Ben's restaurant. I am told to have Big Ben's smoke meat sandwich, fries, pickle and a cherry coke which they are famous for. Well we did and it was awesome, by far the best smoke meat sandwich I have ever had, even Wanda ate the majority of her sandwich and she doesn't even like smoke meat sandwiches. They have one wall designated as the wall of fame regarding the celebrities and dignitaries that have dinned there. Walking into Ben's is like walking into a time capsule in the 1950's...We proceeded to St Joseph Oratory after we ate, what a place the up keep must hire a few summer student for the summer and stair...lots of stairs...The Oratory is the second largest Oratory in the world only second to the Oratory in Rome Italy. Our second day we had breakie at Eggspectations which was great and proceeded to Old Montreal seeing the old buildings and the cobblestone streets were so cool. We saw the first  bank in Canada, which was the Bank of Montreal and seeing Notre Dam Basilica was nice...Notre Dam Basilica was erected in 1678 and is amazing inside...a must see. We walked though Old Montreal until we came to Jacques Cartier Place, you have street performers and some good ones, and patio pub's and bars on both sides of Jacques Cartier Place. We had a refreshment and checked out City Hall and the Monument of Admiral Nelson built in 1843, there is a similar one in London England which I have seen also.  For the afternoon we proceeded on to Montreal Olympic Park and Montreal Tower, this is were the summer Olympics of 1976 happened. The Tower is higher than you think and once up top you have a wonderful view of Montreal. Last but not lease is Mount Royal, I heard the view was very nice but you have to walk up a few stairs since mount Royal is on a large hill to say the least...well a ten minute walk up hill on a bike path on to numerous flights of stairs which consist of 260 stairs...But we were not disappointed once we reach the summit of mount Mount Royal all I can say is Wow what a view you feel as if you could touch the buildings..really nice..Well that was our trip..we really enjoyed ourselves in Montreal, great culture and cuisine...Happy Travels...
