This was driving along Route 1 and the Big Sur.
This was moment when I realised how much I missed the Mustang.  The Focus just could not compete in any way; speed, performance, handling, fun factor etc etc etc - well, actually it did give decent fuel economy, but that counts for nothing; I really did miss the car.  Luckily I had some of the best views of my life to keep me entertained; this was an incredible drive.  I've driven through the Alps, which was amazing, and I'm not sure which I prefer.  This, I beleive, is a 'must do' drive for anyone visiting California.  The 27 miles of rugged coastline gives views of the Pacific Ocean which are absolutely spectacular.  There are so many look out points to stop off at as well, so you can soak up the views and take a few pics.  It's perfect.

We stopped off at Carmel for a little bit of time on the beach, but Montery is another pretty town with a great aquarium which, unfortunately, we didn't have any time for.  Instead we got back on the road to catch the sunset, which was magnificant, into the Pacific Ocean.  We made it as far as Buellton that night, and I felt very content with the day.
