I Flew from Liverpool to JFK. On the first day we had a bit of walk around, but it was absolute hammering it down with rain so I ran into the Guggenheim for a couple of artistic hours. It was great in there. The building was the most impresssive, though.

The city is very alive and there is so much to do every night of the week. I saw phantom of the Opera on Broadway, went to the cinema, and got drunk a few times! Unfortunately, our timing wasn't the best and we had to move on before the weekend kicked in.

If anyone goes for a first time, I would recommend the Staten Island Ferry. It take you onto Liberty Island and Ellis island, but make sure you go as early as possible - the queue grows very fast! Also have a look at what's going on at Madison Square Gardens. The Knicks play there and there is stuff going on all the time. Make sure you look in advance though.

The Empire State building gives a great view of the city, but again I definitely recommend to go early. I ended up queuing for ages for a peak from the top.

The city is amazing. There's great food, excellent shopping (girls), loads to do, and I had a lot of fun here.
