Map of Bali. My partner took it when we got lunch in one restaurant. This painting was on the wall
Tulamben is a simple village in the north east of Bali
Island – Indonesia.
It is a part of Karang Asem disctrict. Me my self wasn’t familiar with the name
of Tulamben until my partner read it on Lonely Planet as a recommended place
for diving. So there were me and my partner..started our diving lesson.
After 2 hours flight from Balikpapan
to Denpasar Bali, we should drive for 3 hours to go to the north. Ngurah Rai
international airport was down on the south, in the leg of Bali
island. 3 hours are interesting as we passed country side with beautiful
natural scene. Tulamben it self basically is just a village along the beach..you never know unless you dive inside, it isn't that simple.
This is how we learn to dive
.;)
The resort we stayed in was great deal..consider cheap with
nice view. It is homey! We stayed in the second floor, which the front view was
beach and the back view was mountain Agung, the big volcanic in Bali.
Morning call was the kukuruyuk sounds from chicken in the neighborhood. In the perfect
time to take nap after diving, we heard the gamelan – traditional Balinese band..I
said it was really relaxing. No internet, switch off the cell phone, no TV..out
of any technologies.
We took the 3 days open water scuba diving, and explored under
water in the next 3 days. Tulamben beach wasn’t a sandy beach, it was rocks! It
was coming from the mountain agung volcanic, which is the reason why the drop-off
under water became a very nice dive spot. Tulamben has many dive spots, around
10 spots. One of the famous ones is the wreck of USAT liberty. Most of the
character in Finding Nemo are thereJ..meet the cute million
clown fish, schooling fish, pipe wish, frog fish, nudibranc, many kinds of shrimps,
sea hourse, crab, barracuda and few sharks! ..and many more. The corral was
beautiful as well. Most people came here for macro photography, which is really
nice spot.
" As I dive deeper then look up, i am in the middle of million fishes!"
