Wellington
So I have just finished my two day tour of Wellinton. We came up on Friday night to visit Ali's friend Kim. It's a fun place with a very hippie vibe. Downtown is this great shopping area called Cuba St. which goes all the way down to the water. It is blocked off from cars and has tons of street performers, millions of cafes, and tons and tons of hippies. However, with hippies comes vegan food which means I got the BEST peice of lactose free chocolate cake, it was amazing and if you know me well you will appreciate that fact as well. Another first, Friday night I purched my first 6 pack of beer just a week before my 21st, oh the irony. It was very anticlimactic. Went out dancing last night. It is a very different style from what you see the US, much more my style. They don't grind as they do in the US but instead just dance and have fun, it's great! Today I walked around to see seals on the beautiful beach and now I am back in the hostel. Busy busy days and I am so tired. Leaving Wellinton tomorrow for Taupo. Overall I really liked it here though it is unbelievably windy and there are more mullets and rat tails per block than I have ever seen in my life.
I have a minute left of internet time so if there are mistakes in this forgive me, also I will add pics in 2 weeks when I get to Nelson..
lots of love!
