Most chilled day so far...
February 6, 2008
So today we woke up in Hopewell with the sounds of the gentle waves lapping at the shore, popped our lakeside room and had a good stretch in the sunlight.
By 11am we were scooting across the lake in the short water taxi ride back to the mainland where we then drove along the empty valley roads back into the Marlborough Wine region. We then spent the next couple of hours tasting different wines wandering between different wineries in the sunshine before having a gorgeous lunch over looking the vineyards and rolling hills under the cloudless sky.
After a good lunch, a bottle of water and a stiff coffee we got back onto the road and drove through more amazing countryside before stopping in Nelson for the night. I write this after taking a quick stroll along the beach at sunset and feeling that life is pretty grand today.
