We Love Buenos Aires!!!
January 23, 2008
Well it was an ordeal getting here and it's turning out to be an ordeal leaving but I have to say we have absolutely loved spending time in Buenos Aries.
The city is huge but the civic planning is a marvel with wide open roads (inc the world's largest - 16 lanes!!) and tons and tons of parks. It also has a wide variety of architecture including French, Italian and Spanish influence and some absolutely jaw dropping buildings. In fact some of the best architecture has been in the cemetary!!! - tomb stones the size of small churches! never seen anything like it
We've walked around till we've been exhausted checking out all the different districts. Our favourite though, is where we stayed - Palermo - beautiful tree-laden streets, outdoor, cafe culture and great nightlife. The city atmosphere kind of feels like a mix between New York and Paris with some proper South American relaxation thrown in
Everyone has been really friendly and we have vowed to come back as soon as possible
