The poor, lovely, chilled-out fijians working in Nadi Customs did their best for two uptight, wide-eyed europeans going mental about how quickly they needed to get their bags and leg it to the next flight. They coped pretty well actually, its hard to believe anything could stress a fijian out - they’re all so relaxed they’re horizontal and nothing’s a problem...
..as we saw almost immediately after we’d bustled our way and to check-in only to be greeted with an easy smile and told to relax on the brown sofas (in the departure terminal!) and wait for our flight.
We were met by another easy going chap and his golf buggy who later said he was actually the accountant but everyone was on holiday so he was reception, taxi-man and room attendant today :-) I think he could cope though - there’s only 6 people staying here in the beautiful Lomani Resort. Our room has a stunning beach view and in the evening the sun set in front of us and we went for supper.
Despite the fact that we’re in the rainy ‘off’ season today has been stunning - bright blue sky and really really hot and sunny. Today brought a long swim before a hearty breakfast followed by a snorkelling trip then some more swimming and relaxing by the pool before a spot of kayaking and finally some more swimming and relaxing before another lovely evening meal and a chill in our fantastic room.
This is going to be an awesome 7 day ‘holiday’ to finish our whistle stop tour round the world :-)
Tomorrow I think there’ll be more chilling, swimming and kayaking before we start our PADI Scuba Diving course on wednesday.
It’s a hard life...
