Ronneburg Castle
May 20, 2006
This is a 13th century castle that my grandparents took me to when I was young. It was so wonderful to be there again with my grandmother and mother, this time around. Though the architecture changed with different owners, and many items had been looted in years past, what remains today is a treasure trove of medieval artifacts. many of the rooms, like the kitchens, are arranged with furniture and utensils as they were utilized back then. There is a room full of armor, a chamber with torture devices, rooms filled with old spinning wheels and toys, and a variety of other noteworthy sites like a blacksmith shop, falconry, and watch tower from which one can see the entire valley spread out below.
