Told you, gorgeous
Really, you boys have the minds of gutters.

Yes, O Jail Bait! Can Be Rearranged Into a Town Name on Lake Atitlan
However, as far as I could tell this is not another Jac√≥ with regards to ropey sexual shennanighans. It is however a very small Guatemalan village with only three hotels, two of which are prohibitively expensive for travellers.  However, those looking for a holiday should look because this place looks to be one of the best hotels in the world at a ridiculous price of about US$40 a night.  Really, Guatamala is insanely cheap.

I was in more modest surroundings though, that said the Posada Jaibalito was still an excellent place.  80 Queztales (that is less than 6 quid) gets a large double room, with en suite and a small kitchen for a night.  25 quetazles gets you a bed in a very presentable dorm which holds four.  Mad. Not that a kitchen is required as you can get food at the place which usually costs about UKP1.00.  The guacamole they do is fab as the avocadoes come from the tree in the garden.  If you hear a crash against the roof, that is one of these hummungous fruit falling to earth.

There isn't actually anything to do here, except wander around town, do a bit of hiking (Santa Cruz is about a 40 minute walk away) and go marvel at the Lake.  However, unlike San Pedro, swimming is far more viable because the lake is cleaner here. But it is gorgeous.  Bloody gorgeous.
