My art is usually biographical in some matter. They are memories that I cherished, pivotal life experiences, moments of eureka, and thoughts that won't let me rest until they are on paper. I don't dare to tell all the secrets of an image, otherwise the viewer won't use their own imagination and emotions when making contact with mine or anyone's art for that matter.
In my more current non-photographic work I would say my focus is on the human spirit (mine in particular) when it breaks, when it is lost, when it is hurting and when it is reawakening.
My materials of choice are tea, graphite, inks and color pencils on paper. Sometimes I take the a realist approach with art other times an abstract and or minimalist approach. This all depends on the image itself and what she wants from me.
