I am fortunate that my job allows me the opportunity to travel and explore my own country through its winding back roads. I never grow tired of the landscape, friendly faces and cows! :P quite often I am seeing my homeland from my car, but there are several days when I am able to explore on foot a park, river, city, small town or a dirt road leading to some natural treasure! :P Enjoy!

Laramie Adventure

A road less traveled
Laramie is a cute college town in the South Eastern section of Wyoming. The downtown is an actual working downtown with plenty of little cafes and shops. walked around a little bit, but it was toward the end of the day and most of the businesses were closed.

I had a free day to explore and decided to spend a few hours driving down a road which at some point turned into a dirt road. It was beautiful. The road went through some cattle ranches and I had to stop the car a couple times to wait for a few of them to finish crossing the road. Later on down the road A few antelope galloped in front of my car and a gorgeous hawk swooping down for its lunch a few feet away.

What I love about the landscape was all the color that could be seen if eyes are open and looking around. the hills were covered with these beautiful small wildflowers growing between rocks covered in what I think was dried algae. The algae created colors of mint green, greys, blacks and yellows in patterns that mimicked images from space. The flowers were yellow, white, cream, wild blue irises and these gorgeous bright coral flowers..

I'll be back here again later in the month and can't wait to explore some of the mountains south of Laramie.

Days Inn, Laramie, WY
The Days Inn in Laramie is a very comfortable place to stay!

The bed was so comfy that I almost didn't want to get out of bed to explore the small historic western city! :P:P

Rooms are very clean, the internet works with out any annoying connection problems (which is super important when traveling and working on the road as long I do!). The hotel also has a lovely indoor swimming pool and a decent fitness room (unfortunately though it is located near the main entrance with a giant window for everyone to see you working out). But really there are no major complaints about the place. It is located within a couple minutes from downtown Laramie and the local university and right off the interstate 80. easy on and easy off.

The room was a bit pricey compared to other hotels in the area, but very comfortable.
