Wiesbaden!
September 23, 2007
so me, my aunt, uncle and cousin decided to go to Wiesbaden for the day. My other cousin Jodie was feeling ill so stayed behind. We went to a Fasanerie, an animal park in nearby Wiesbaden which had free admission. The park is set on many acres of land and is a very impressive and free place to visit. There were many animals roaming around, we saw many animals such as deer, bears and wolves (all behind fences of course!), the weather was lovely and the sun was very warm considering it was nearly the end of September and it was a really fun day. My uncle calls Wiesbaden a 'slicky mickey' town, it seemed very nice and picturesque to me. Its a shame there isnt more places like this in the UK. Theres different walking trails, huge beautiful trees and great onsite facilities We could learn a few things from the Germans! Germany is one of my favourite countries in Europe, England has not always had the best relationship with other countries especially Germany (i actually know people that wont visit germany or france because they dislike the two nations so much which is ridiculous) because they are missing out on the Jewel in Europe's crown.
I had a very nice day with my family and it was good spending time with my Uncle Jorg, unfortunately justĀ over 3 years ago he was diagnosed with cancer, after chemotherapy he seemed to be getting better and it was the first time id seen him since 1996 and we just got word the other night that he's had a relapse and will need more chemotherapy so he's in my prayers and I know that if anything were to happen that I would always have the memories of this day with me. Outside the park were a few stalls on the side of the road selling apples and oranges for quite expensive prices and my aunt told them to lower their prices, shes very opinionated and can talk for hours, thats a good and a bad thing! Its a good idea to donate a small amount of money and theres a box at the entrance so we dropped a few euros in there. It goes to the upkeep of the park and animals and really is a worthy visit.
