Checking out Canyon Lake

Driving up to Canyon Lake and not really sure what area we wanted to look at, we saw billboards for a community called Ensenada Shores which is on the southern side of the lake. Although Ensenada Shores was pretty much sold out, they were featuring a brand new community across the lake called Las Brisas.
We drove around Ensenada Shores and saw the community area and the beautiful lots which all have lake views. They have something called architecturally restricted communities which means there are rules and regulations regarding the building of your home to ensure the community is maintained. One of the most interesting elements of this type of restriction is the fact you cannot build over a certain amount of feet from the highest point on your property. This ensures that your neighbor in front cannot build a three story home, blocking your entire lake view. Garages cannot face the street which is another nice element. All homes must be at least 1800 sq feet and mostly masonry so no manufactured homes like the older parts of the Texas Hill Country.
This was such a beautiful community and the lake area was gorgeous!
