Shopping, Food and Party in Bangkok
I have always wanted to go back to
Finally this time around I made it back, it was great - thanks to my dear friend Kung for your warm hospitality and to Dodge and New for arranging a sizzling, happening meet-up..
Shopping
Confession of a shopaholic • I love
· Platinum Mall • the place for wholesale, people here shop with luggage bags!
We initially went to
· Central World Mall
· Gaysorn Mall
·
Meeting place for the TB meet-up
· Chatuchak • marketplace with thousands of small shops, selling varieties of items from clothes, household items and decorations, souvenirs, food items and even pets
Went with Kung and met Sabine there, dragging them along on my shopping spree through the maze of shops. We shopped, had drinks, shopped again and then drinks again, and again.. enjoyable but tiring, thanks for putting up with me..
Street food
Best local Thai food are by the street vendor serving Pad Thai, noodle soup, sticky mango rice, traditional cakes, fried banana fritters, fruits and freshly squeeze juice, desserts • tap tim grob, thai iced tea and coffee and thai tea ice-cream, and the list goes on and on.., full of flavor!
Khao San Road is vibrant and full of life, popular with backpackers and is often the base for exploring Thailand and surrounding countries, is also lined with vendors selling food, clothes, paintings and crafts, books, pirated VCD / DVD and backpackers essentials, even fake ID, driver’s licenses and education diplomas! The pubs and bars here are happening, or just drinks al-fresco by the roadside..

Caffe Nero serves local and western dishes.

Besides ice cream the shop also serves beverages, smoothies, coffee and cakes.
Iberry has 12 shops in Bangkok, and also in Chiangmai, Pattaya and Phuket.
Playing it safe, I chose cookies-and-cream and Nutella, smooth and creamy, cooling on a warm afternoon..
