Hell

On our drive back to the Seven Mile Beach, we decided to stop by the tourist town of Hell.  It is an area of the island that is black limestone and although various explanations exist regarding its formation, it is said it has something to do with what Hell might actually look like.  Unfortunately, we were there after everything was closed on the weekend so the area was dead (no pun intended)!! :-)  Apparently there is a store with a "Satan" who passed out souvenirs and makes Hell related comments.  And of course, the post office where you can send mail and it will have the Hell cancellation so you can say you've been to Hell and back!  We did walk out on the viewing platforms and see the limestone formations which were pretty amazing.  It's hard to believe this little area exists right off the beautiful touristy beaches.  It was a lot smaller than I expected but something to check out at least once.
