An Afternoon in Wine Country with Liz (Quest)

I wanted to give Liz a taste of our beautiful wine country and what better place to take her than the Napa Valley! Our first stop was a peek at the property Francis Ford Coppola bought from Inglenook Winery where he lived in the historic house on the premises at times. The Coppola winery has since been turned into the Rubicon Estate which is just their very upscale wines and a way to detour the many tour groups that mobbed the place on the weekends. Coppola has moved their operations to pretty deep within Sonoma County, up past Healdsburg where they are building a beautiful resort on much bigger land than the historic Inglenook Winery sits.
After trespassing, errr, I mean getting lost on the private road, we headed up to St.
After hanging with Jay (and bugging Jordan a bit...hee hee) we headed off in the rainy afternoon to check out another one of my favorites that I knew Liz would enjoy. Clos Pegase - which has quite an eclectic collection of art doting the property. We then made a quick stop by Beringer which was closed for the holidays but has one of the most beautiful grounds in Napa Valley. The house where the winery tasting room sits is a California Historical Landmark.
We hung out here for awhile and then slowly, very slowly (thanks to traffic) made our way back to Sacramento for dinner!
