Too much Confucius will kill you

Confucius was not only a very wise man but also a rich man or at least he made his family one of the most influential and richest in the whole of China. The riches of the Kong family can be best seen by walking through the Kong mansions, this is like a minature forbidden city. They could build their own "forbidden city" as they were free of taxes or any other levies even today the influence of the Kong family is beyond imagination. They could block a proposed railway station in Qufu as it would disturb the tomb of confucius too much, not as much as the thousands of tourists that visit the tomb each day. This blocking is no small feat in China as it is not particulary renowed for it democtratic participation.
Qufu is Confucius all the main sights and activities are centered around him, you can go see the tomb, the family house, the temple and you can even have meals or cocktails named after him. As in every other big city in China or Asia they are a bit monoguous in what they are offering eg; Cloths street, sports street, pet street, chopstick street but Qufu is totally monoguous as it is only offering Confu-things. After a few hours a grew a bit of Confu-fatique and chilled out in a restaurant to have a Confucian fruit juice...
