LA TRAVBUDDY MEET & GREET 2007

WOO HOO i have been waiting for this for the longest time. this was held at downtown LA at a bar/lounge called the edison at 6pm on 12/8/07.  this was a hard place to find. this is located on harlem place alley. WORTH THE WAIT :)

tracy(tre69) and i drove together to the travbuddy meet. it was hard to find. we drove around for 15min. to the darn place. if i was by myself i would have said, "F it, i am going home." edison is not on 2nd street. it is located in an alley. we got there early anyway. we arrived at 5:30pm. it was just me and tracy till, will(w_clemmons) arrived. he knew who i was right off the bat. "YOU'RE MELLEMEL8" HAHAHAHA. will drove all the way down from vegas to be here. edison did not open til 6pm. they put us in the "smokers pit" til they opened. while we waited, roger(x_drive) and his wife, judy came in after us. i knew exactly who he was when he arrived. roger drove all the down from visalia, ca. not long after, mark(travelman727) arrived, he flew in from kansas to be here as well. he had a red eye flight that day back to kansas too. that is insane!!!!!

it was 6pm. we proceed to go downstairs to the bar. i will do a review on edison later. we claimed our territory under the stairs. we all just talked and share our recent travels. sybil(iheart2travel) and doris(martinikitty13) was running late. they arrived soon after jesse(Jessejb) arrived. we talked about "how did you get that screen name" conversation. HAHAHAHA soon after, erin(poohstanggt) arrived. i was a good group so far. slowly but surely people were coming in. tracy and i shared and ordered mac and cheese with black truffles. tracy ordered the "edison", a drink made with lavender-honey infused liqueur, pear liqueur, and freshly squeezed peach nectar....YUMMY :D :P

i called angel(angelbaby) let her know that edison is hard to find. the OC people were hitting traffic. they arrived a little after 7pm. angel(angelbaby) arrived with janene(janene17), kelly(kelleeoo),lauri(travelbugg), vic(lvignals), and david(cneoridium). i quickly gave angel a hug. we have been txting and finally we met.

while i was stuffing my face with mac and cheese with black truffles. co-founder, eric, lisa(lisa), dave(dave) and chris(calichris) arrived. i was looking forward to meet eric. i wanted to tell him i much i support travbuddy and how much i tell people about it and to join. i just discovered portia is his mom. i did not know that.

i just recently bought a "TRAVBUDDY" logo sweater. THERE SHOULD BE ONE PERSON WEARING A "TRAVBUDDY" LOGO CLOTHES TO A MEET & GREET TO KNOW WE ARE HERE. ALSO, A "HELLO, MY SCREEN NAME IS ______" STICKERS. HAHAHAHAHA.

while i was talking to mark and roger.jenn(jenn79) arrived. she just lives near edison. she approached sybil(iheart2travel). sybil(iheart2travel) said happyly, "YOU'RE JENN79" HAHAHAHA. i was laughing with them. then phyllis(phiLLay) arrived, i noticed she was on the celly. i approached her. i asked her if she is on travbuddy. she introduced herself as phyllis. i had no idea who she was HAHAHAHAHA. see that We need the "screen name tags" HAHAHAHAHA.

we all just took a bunch of pictures. i tried to talk to everybody as much as i can. i did not talk to lauri(travelbugg), vic(lvignals), david(cneoridium) and lisa(lisa). i hope next time we will. my mouth was so dry talking so much. i did not even drink not even grey goose, water for me.

this was wonderful. we all have never met, but, when all see each other for the first time. it was like we all have been long lost friends. we read each other blogs and we feel as if we have traveled with them. THERE WAS 22 OF US THAT SHOWED UP. i think it get bigger in the next meet.

after edison, we wanted to grab a midnight snack. we drove to roscoe's chicken and waffles on la brea/pico. half of us left. we thought eric and lisa left, so we left. sorry eric and lisa :)

tracy and i met up with angel(AngelBaby), sybil(iheart2travel), doris(martinikitty13), janene(janene17), jenn(jenn79), will(w_clemmons), kelly(kelleeoo),lauri(travelbugg), jesse(Jessejb), vic(lvignals), and david(cneoridium).

i only ordered buckwheat waffles. i was not hungry. it was about 1am. i did not want to eat heavy. i am planning to wake up at 3am, leave at 6am to drive to AZ. our waitress was a sweet lady. but then, she threaten angel(angelbaby) to finish her food or she was gonna slab her neck. HAHAHAHAHA. so i angel gave me her chicken. HAHAHAHA.
