a falconer just hanging out with his falcon
On our first day of arrival we went searching for the campsite we'd read about in lonely planet only to find that it was too far away from the city, far to expensive, and somewhat lacking in the facilities department. We were planning to spend two or three nights in Budapest, and after one night at the campsite, we knew we had to find somewhere else. We found the website for the Back Pack Guesthouse at a net cafe, and it sounded so cool, and they also let you camp in the garden for a couple euro less than a dorm bed, so that was our next destination.
We spent the first couple days wandering around Pest, through the castle grounds, and we had an awesome time in the Labyrinth, a network of caves below the castle grounds. We were given a map and an oil lantern and sent into the darkness.
Upon arriving at the Back Pack Guesthouse Monday afternoon, Immediately said to Mieke 'this is what i want my house to be like'. Hammocks in the garden, photographs of guests and beautiful portraits from the hostel owners travels on the walls. We were immediately comfortable and glad we had made the decision to leave the campsite.
