By our standards, this was a pretty tame night! Only 3 people got minor injuries, retinas were only slightly burned out from the multiple bulbs and 1 or 2 bottles of wine were consumed. By all accounts and measures - an absolute success!
I was EXTREMELY looking forward to this meet as we would be joined by some of our BAY AREA BABES! Julie, Erin and JILLIAN!!! I had never met Julz but knew immediately I would love her (and I was right!!), I hadn't seen Erin since the first ever meetup at the Edison, and I hadn't seen Jillian since Vegas a month and a half ago but that seems like AGES and AGES ago now!!
To sweeten the deal, most of the Las Vegas crowd that I remember so VERY FONDLY made the drive - ALL in separate cars! Our Queen Mellemel drove with Melissa, John (jpchoi), Sal (sincitytraveler), and Will who spent the big bucks flying all the way out from South Carolina!! I am surprised I didn't pass out from happiness, as I am known to almost pass out quite frequently, as this weekend would reveal.
In addition, a wonderful new group of TBs joined us for this meet, including Charisse, Sharon from Canada, Melissa from Las Vegas and Oscar!
Fresh blood! Hahahaa =)
For me, the best part of the night was the bellydancing. Though Sal came too late for the festivities ;) Tiffybear, Alice and Mel were chosen to go up and strut their stuff. The bellydancer would basically perform a move and ask the unsuspecting diner to imitat her. But Mel just came in and made the dance her own - in my opinion, highly improving upon it in true MEL STYLE! I've decided that Mel is one of the MOST charismatic people on TB.
I couldn't believe this was only the pre-meetup. It would turn out that it was far better organized than the actual meetup, no thanks to me. But you live and you learn and Joy saved the day as usual with a divining rod - finding us the COOLEST place for drinks and dancing - how does she find these hidden gems and luck out SO HARD??
