We were only staying in Delhi for two nights so basically kept it simple and stayed around the Main Bazaar. We did some shopping and enjoyed our last Thalis and Mango juices, aswell as one more ride on the city's new Metro system!! If you ever are in Delhi, you have to go on it. Its better than London Tube as it's only a year old but its a replica of the Tube. Its got Aircon, its clean as and smooth- you dont believe your in India anymore! And its cheap as chips- a quarter of the price of a Moto Tuk Tuk. But when you have to surface back up the stairs to reality you smell those smells, you remember where you are...
We made our way to the International Airport to find that our flight was delayed 12 hours and that we were being put up in a nearby hotel cost free. Yippee!!! An hour later we arrived at this hotel. The lobby made our jaws drop- no way would we ever be able to afford this. We made our way to our room with Ash- a fellow traveller from England- to find the perfect chillout room with aircon and cable tv. Yay! Lunch was served 1/2 hour later- Buffet lucnh with the most delicious variety of food- including shepards pie!!! Johnny and I had been Vegetarians for a long time so to have this opportunity was unreal! They had all sorts of dishes- Indian and Western- plus salads and desert! Rice pudding- i was in heaven. Our plan was to eat till we got sick- but i could only fit in one plate plus one serve of pudding. Oh well- we were getting it all again at dinner!
So we chilled out, watched movies, came downstairs for feast no.2 (so yummy!!!!) then at 3am headed back to the airport (there were further delays). We were on our way to Bangladesh!
