Back in Rome

We arrived back in Rome just in time to grab an early dinner and head to the Circus Maximus to watch the soccer match. Tens of thousands of people had crowded into the ancient track to watch the game unfold upon three big screens. When Italy scored, hundreds of Italian flags went up throughout the crowd, creating a sea of red, white, and green. After Italy won, the masses took to the streets, cheering, screaming and generally working its way through the city. Tiny cars packed full of people drove through the streets with people hanging out the windows, honking and streaming Italian flags in the wind. Flatbed trucks became mobile dance floors packed with revelers.

You are either incredibly lucky or very good at planning trips to be in Rome for the World Cup finals. Wow - enjoy
