So, we left Tahiti at 8:00 am for a short 6 hour flight across to New Zealand and arrived at noon THE NEXT DAY! Ok, so crossing the international date line doesn't feel any different, but we lost a whole day! We basically left in the morning on Sunday and arrived on Monday. WHAT HAPPENED TO SUNDAY! I will never get that day back. Talk about aging fast!
I love Auckland. For a city of 1.4 million people.. it's very cool! It's right between two harbors and surrounded by volcanos and islands. We did a two day city tour where you pay a bus fee to hop on and off a bus at will that circles through the city to the main attractings. We stopped at the Zoo, the shops, the Antarctica Encounters aquarium, Mt Eden with a view of One Tree Hill, and other choice destinations. The days were fun and we saw alot.
We left Auckland with a rental car. Of course, like England, Kiwi's drive on the LEFT side of the road. Ben has been doing a good job- he only almost killed us once! Seriously, he looked the other way and saw traffic was clear pulled out- on THE RIGHT!
Anyway, we headed to Rotorua yesterday (where we currently are) and we are having a blast. Ben needs the last 13 minutes we have purchased so I will write about it tomorrow or so!!
