Stone Mountains
December 21, 2007
Our morning began with a swim and a walk on the beach. Mianna created a shell mountain while Kyle chased crabs along the chocolate-colored sand. The Arabic Sea is cool with gentle waves and one can always see tankers along the horizon so it's a perfect place to relax (if you didn't bring your 7- and 4-year-old). After our morning shell collecting, Mohammed took us for lunch and then to meet Eisa for a day trip to the Stone Mountains where much of the granite used throughout UAE is quarried. He braved the rough rock road in his Q7 to get us to the natural spring that flows from the rocks. Many people were enjoying their day there and we made it out of the mountain just before sunset. Today we may go to sleep before midnight...
