Moment of Glory:
So, we decided to drive a little bit north, just a few miles. We parked along the highway and walked down to the beach to check every possible surf spot. After a few stops, we found paradise! We walked down a across a pumpking crop, about half a mile and hiked down a cliff. After the hike, our eyes glimmed. Offshore conditions, mid tide, on a sandbar beah with a rocky point.... the conditions were, as any surfer would say "Going Off". Without any more contemplation, we didnot walk, we ran, hiking up and crossing the field in what could have been record time. We found a great parking place just under a few shrubs just off the main road, hiding the my truck.
The sad moment:
After the session, we headed back to my truck, hiking and and crossing the field talking about our waves and wipe outs, the waves we missed and the ones we ripped; this time the way back seemed longer and our feet felt tired, we were both exhuasted. On our way there, there were a couple of surfers heading to the beach; we greeted each others and told them about the session and how if the could hurry up they could still catch afew ones before the high noon winds started to pick up. We got to our can and the realization of our adventure got to our minds; however, both with a big smile.
On highway 1
On our way back, we stopped at Ocean Beach in San Francisco, it seemed conditions here were good as well, but crowded as hell. I got home, and started to write about the adventure with definite assurance that I should do this next year.
I took some pictures to capture the moment. Enjoy!
