chilling out at Sacsayhuaman (yes, people slide down that like they're at a playground)

got up late yesterday. went to chez maggy in gringo alley. all our food cooked in open, earthen oven. i got anticuchos (bbqéd beef heart shish kebobs). matt got the cuy (whole, baked guinea pig). i didn´t like that so much.  bought a cheap green poncho for myself. random pèople on the street keep making fun of me for it. these peruvian middle school girls at an archealogical site asked to get their picture taken with me (either because of the ugly poncho, or i was just the tallest gringo they could find). kind of ironic, this old woman on the street with 3 teeth called my poncho (tragico). whatever, i still like it.

got dinner at bembos (peru´s mcdonalds). i liked it at the time, but i still can´t get the unique taste of their burgers out of my mouth.

even more Sacsayhuaman
now it´s making me sick. accidentally used the tap water to brush my teeth. that probably isnt helping any either.

ran into this stret performance yesterday that still is confusing and disturbing me. two dudes with a crowd of people in front of a church were doing this cool ¨dance-fight¨routine (like they do in brazil). then one guy takes off most of his clothes and puts on a dress and heels, proceeds to perform a sexy dance and strip tease for the other guy. then more dance fighting. so odd. i thought this was a conservative catholic country.

peruvian girls are beautiful. the younger girlfriends have this habit of walking down the street arm in arm or holding hands. dress in western styles. i have the feeling im the only person wearing a poncho in this town because they like it.

photo ops at Sacsayhuaman

next day, went horseback riding to various inca ruins. my horse refused to let any other horse in front of him. the highlight was Sacsayhuaman (pronounced ´sexy woman´), an old inca fortress from which they launched raids on the spanish occupiers in cusco. awe-inspiring views of the mountains and city that i can only describe until i buy batteries for my camera. not going to.

other highlight of the horseback ride, met these 3 cute german girls who were part of the same excursion. tried to communicate in spanish, even though they spoke english. sexy women were the theme of the last 2 days. hopefully the rest of the trip as well.

they were just normal kids. my one friend guessed it was a parody of peru´s national figures, like our ´saturday night live´but on the street. i believe this plaza was also 2 or 3 blocks from the plaza de armas
