Lima, para la segunda vez

We arrived in Lima this morning. No complications. Not feeling so hot from this dinner of tapas I had last night. My friends don´t like our hotel very much so we´re moving to a place in Miraflores. Not many plans for the last few days here. Already started getting homesick back in Cusco. Will post pics later.
Lima is kind of uncool. no offense to limeños. there´s just not as much to do as in cusco. us gringos aren´t complete celebrities walking down the streets anymore. of course i realize all those smiles and happy conversations in cusco were just from people playing the tourist game trying to get some money out of me. but still...
central lima didn´t have much to offer so we high-tailed it to miraflores, a ritzy suburb on the beach.
holy shit am i ever homesick right now. don´t get me wrong, i loved my time in peru, but now i just wish i was home. i miss my nephew more than anyone, which is funny because at this point all he does is poop and cry.
Edit: about that haircut, a word of advice. make sure you speak the same language as your stylist. there was kind of a miscommunication. he didn't understand how long i wanted it, so i just told him to make it like his (entirely in spanish, mind you). then he said some stuff i didn't understand and i agreed with whatever it was he was saying. next thing i know he's painting my hair with some kind of brush. it took me a little while to figure out it was hair dye. so yeah, i'm now a blonde. a really really awful shade of blonde. and i'm not having more fun.
as we were leaving our miraflores hotel, we were solicited by a hooker who didn't want to take no for an answer.
so after all the worrying that went into this trip: no express kidnappings, no plane crashes, no muggings, no solicited bribes from officials, no crooked cabbies, no "peperas", no stolen kidneys, some upset stomachs and a bad haircut. all and all it was a pretty eventful trip. at least by my standards.
