The plan: a 3 week car trip covering as many sites as we can fit. About 4,500 miles, and include California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, South Dakota, Wyoming and back again. Many National Parks. It ended up over 5,200 miles, 1,800 pictures.

End of day eleven

Another 185 miles or so north is Hill City, South Dakota, our ending point for day eleven.  It made for a long day’s ride but those nice stops along the way were worthwhile.  Hopefully we got some good pictures and learned a little history while we were at it. 

 

Tonight we drive to Keystone to see a preview of Mount Rushmore and to see what they have to offer in the way of stores and restaurants.  After shopping for a little we look for food.

 

Bingo! we found nirvana!  Big Time Pizza serves the best we have ever had. 

 

For tonight and tomorrow we are staying at the Holiday Inn Express, in Hill City.
