An old friend and a new adventure

This was my sons choice of vacation. We had decided to take a 4 day trip somewhere alone, yes mother and son trip:)

I got home from work thursday at midnight and logged on to check out the prices for parking at the airport for 4 nights and thought i'd check my mails on myspace etc...I think i might have way too many accounts on the internet LOL...Anyways since i don't use my name there i had recieved a mail where it said "Hey Gudny" so i opened up and started to read. I was flabbergasted to read that it was from my old friend Rex that i hadn't spoken to or heard from in 9 years. He told me he was in Stockholm and that it would be great to meet and i told him that i am going to BArcelona the next day and he thought that was too bad since he could have flown over to Oslo for the weekend.

I told him to come to Barcelona and visit me and Kristoffer there. I would sort out that he could stay in our hotel room so we could catch up...He loved the idea and booked a ticket and a few hours after me and Kristoffer arrived in Barcelona we got a knock on the door...wow was so much fun to see my friend again..He told me i hadn't changed at all and i told him that went for him too so yes we keep ourself looking young hahaha

Anyways, we didn't vaste much time chitt chatting in the hotel room so we all got our sneakers/trainers on to explore the city. We bought ourself a 3 day travel card so we could get around without having to buy a ticket eachtime we wanted to jump on a train..oooopps my mistake it was a BArcelona card...

We went to La Rambla and all the other attractions around the area and some other places too.

..We went to have dinner at a restuurant that seemed to be a popular spot once we got inside. Photos of well known people from around the world were covering the walls that might have had an open spot for my photo but i guess i would have had to pay them for that hahaha.... Kristoffer insisted on eating lobster so that's what he ate. Yes he actually loves all that type of food, might not sound normal for some one who was 10 at the time hehe..Unfortunatly i wasn't too impressed by the food there and neither was my son or Rex. It was ok but that was it..We thought we try something different the next day so we took a cab down to a fancy area and ordered some steaks this time.. Oh well it wasn't great but duable this time as well so my tasting of Spanish food hasn't been mouth watering to put it that way.

Then Sunday came and Rex had to go back to try and get the flight he was supposed to take to go back to work. He works down in Iraq at the moment as a marine. So on Sunday Kristoffer and i bought some Falafels which was great. Loved it and remember eating that when i was in Israel back in 1989. So that was the most impressive food i had in BArcelona:)

So Sunday i went with my son to the FCBarcelona home stadium.. Camp Nou where we spent a lot of time but unfortunatly there weren't any football games while we were there. That would haven made his day for sure..SO i guess one day we're going back for a game :)

All in all i found Barcelona to be a very clean city and lots to do as well. You'll never bored while you are in Barcelona that's for sure.
