Typical dirt roads
It's now become tradition to rent a golf cart for a couple hours one day and go scope out other parts of the island. This particular time we decided to go as far North as we possibly could - seeing as the island is only 28 miles long, we figured we would do good.....wrong. LOL. Seemed like a good idea at the time. We went as far as we could allright...until we ended up in someone's front yard beach that was about to tip over the golf cart and we had to figure out how to back it up for a good distance until we could turn around!!! As I learned on my 2007 trip there, we were no where even remotely close to hitting the end of the island!! LOL. Oh well, it was an adventure!!!
I should note...the beauty of being able to explore the north end of the island is much easier now since they constructed a "real" bridge! No more hand crank barge to get you back and forth. It's great for the north end expansion but bad for me as the prices just went up on beach front land, making it more cost prohibitive to purchase something!!!
