... ha ha just my little joke!

Adam's mum Val is here with us for two weeks - we also travelled from Manilla to Bangkok with Miriam too!

Val arrived on Saturday evening and we spent 2 nights in Bangkok (24th - 26th). On the first night we went out for some yummy Thai food and a few drinks. One of the bars we went to is a petrol station by day and then it transforms into a really good (but very dangerous!) bar at night complete with candles on the tables and smokers everywhere!!! Val tried her first bucket there - this consists of a bottle of Thai whiskey, some very strong Redbull and a little bit of coke (coka cola that is!).

On the Sunday we planned to visit the Grand Palace and a few other sites. We (stupidly) hired two Tuk-tuks to take us around for the day but ended up being abandoned after an hour as we didn't want to order a new suit or go on an expensive boat trip! They were like a pair of sulky kids! It was for the best anyway cos they were idiots and we ended up making our way around by ourselves which was much better.
We went down the Chao Phraya river on a little ferry boat which cost us about 50p! and saw lots of Buddas and Wats (temples). In the evening we had a drink on Koh San Road (which is near to our hotel - which is lovely but small!) and then went for a meal. We then piled into a taxi and went to Pat Pong to have a look round the night market and at the lady boys! We ended up staying out rather late considering we had a flight to Koh Samui at 6am the next morning!!!
