Things to Do in Bogota

Bogota Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

Every time I go back to Bogota, it only gets better and better. Can't run out of things to do!!! This is a quick summary on general travel advise and the 3 days I spent here on my last trip to Colombia (November 2007)

Things to Do in Bogota

Cocina Fusion: a mix of colombian food with other ingredients. Could be: italian+colombian: sweet plantain lasagna. or a filet mignon with a Lulo Sauce! so many great combinations!!!

Things to do

Bogota has many cultural activities and free recreational parks for family fun. I have not been to any of these but the most know activity is the “ciclovia” which is on Sundays when many of the main roads are closed and people can ride their bikes or walk/run. There are set places with aerobics and other activities.

People in bogota enjoy the outdoors and on the weekends people head outside f the city limits to country houses or restaurants. The weather is colder outside of the city if you head out to the mountains. Colombians love to socialize and the bests areas to do it are located in the North Side of the City. Our life is around friends and families so people always plan to get together for drinks, coffee, or dinner/lunch.

Parque de la 93:

Entertainment, shopping, restaurants, bars.

Plantains with differents sauces

La T, Calle 82:

La T, Centro Comercial Andino, Centro Comercial Atlantis, Centro Comercial El Retiro. Movie theaters in Atlantis and Andino shopping centers. Pubs, restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, stores, a few blocks from here a local crafts market.

My Favorite Restaurants: Harry Sasson, Wok, Enoteca, Creppes&Waffles

Usaquen:

The Plaza with church with many restaurants, bars, stores. The best is the flea market on Sundays where you can buy many typical foods, crafts, clothes… it is more expensive than other flea markets but it is located in a safe and nice place.plus after shopping you can head out to a nice restaurant or bars. Most places have outdoor and indoor sitting areas. The Hacienda Santa Barbara is located a few blocks away from the church. This is a nice mall built on the foundations of an Hacienda from the 18th century.
