Nightlife in Bogota
There are endless choices on what to do in Bogota. What I like the Most is going to "La T". This is an intersection of a street and a carrera(avenue) and they form a T that is closed from traffic. Along these streets you will find many restaurants with outdoor sitting and many bars and clubs. I love walking around here during the day as well. Great shopping place. It's in between 2 of the nicest shopping malls in the city and a new mall with some designer stores. There is also a local crafts market a couple of blocks from here and many "hippies" selling hand made "jewlery" made of wood or seeds.
I went to MINK this is a lounge type of place with house music. It was hard to get a table but once we got it we ordered a bottle of aguardiente (around $100,000 pesos = $50 dollars) and this was enough for 4 of us for 2-3 hrs.
Later, we went to PARADISO. This was more of a club. We paid $20,000 pesos cover($10 dollars) to get in. This place was packed!! we could not get a table. we got there after 1am. The close @ 5am. The music is what we call cross-over which is a mix of spanish music(salsa, merengue, vallenato), reggaeton, house and anything in between.
If you dont want to dance, I like Bogota Beer Company. This is a laid back place with nice music and if you can get a table outside it is a nice place to do people watch.
Keep in mind, people in Bogota dress extremelly NICE!!! that means: NO open toe shoes!! not even during the day. A jacket or blazer even if it's not freezing, men can wear jeans o polo shirts just watch the shoes- no sneakers. Women do not wear dresses- only for weddings. Doormans can decide who they let in or not base on how they look. Also, in most places they check your purses and men are "inspected" to see if they have guns. Sometimes they even check women(a security woman does this) so dont be offended b/c they want to touch you. it is for your own safety. No guns allowed.
