me and Mel on the plane waiting to arrive at Honolulu airport
Saturday, September 16, 2006 ((Day 1))
I’m happy to be heading to Hawaii again. I love it so much. Who wouldn’t.. it is so quiet and peaceful there.. No matter where I’m at, whether it be the beach, at home (telly or rented house), or just walking the streets, I feel I have time to myself to think and relax my body and mind. It’s so nice to be away from work and all it’s entirety.
It wasn’t much of a long flight at all.. once we got there we felt free.. we were all excited to be there. How nice it was to have friends get married in the beautiful island of Oahu and allow us to be a part of it.
We got our luggage and rent-a-cars with no problems. There was 7 of us arrived on Saturday, and 1 will join us from the mainland on Sunday (1 being my cousin Jenn).
check out those clouds
We made our way to where we would be calling home from the next week.. Kailua.. such a lovely lovely place. And we were only walking distance to Kailua Beach Park, I loved how conveniently close the beach was to our place.
We all got settled in, and ready to go out and have some lunch. We ate a small quick lunch at a close by Hawaiian local food restaurant just down the street from our house, I forgot the name of it though =( but it was yummy. After that we went to Costco, which seemed to be quite a ways away from our place, to get some groceries so we had enough drinks, snacks, and food to last us a week. We also did a little shopping.. mostly a little chocolate here and there and coffee. Then we unloaded the car and put away the groceries eat and have some fun for our first night in Hawaii. We met the bride and groom (Christine and Jarrett) to be at Lucy’s Bar and Grill in Kailua. We consumed superb food and Hawaiian cocktails of course. After that we went to Breakers close by to listen to some reggae music and dance the night away. What a first night we had, total enjoyment =)
