Pre Departure Jitters

1 Continent. 10 Countries. 152 Days. 2000 Dollars. Millions of Memories. My South American Adventure begins Dec 2007 and ends April 2008. I am pretty much traveling alone and winging it. But one thing's for sure- it's gonna be one hell of a trip.

Pre Departure Jitters

Well, i'm all packed and ready to get going! I leave for Quito tomorrow morning from San Francisco and i arrive Quito at night. My whole trip is going to last about half a year and i am pretty much circling the whole continent on a majorly tight budget. I am ready to experience a whole new world! I'll first be working at a hospital in Quito for about a month, then i'm off to the other countries. I am more excited to meet so many people and learn about new cultures. My biggest worries are getting robbed, being totally broke, being alone, and also the language barrier. I speak only a minimal amount of Spanish. But i'm looking on the bright side- It's SOUTH AMERICA! I'm spending the Holidays on the Andes, New Years in the Amazon, Carnival in Rio, Birthday in Buenos Aires, Spring in Santiago and so much more. Well, i'm off to have my final sushi dinner here in the states. The next time i right on this, i'll be in Ecuador ;)

Ciao!

Best of luck on your adventure! It sounds so amazing I can't wait to read your blogs...

As for not speaking much Spanish, that won't last long. You will learn it quicker than you ever imagined.

Happy travels!
