Day 34 - our last full day in Halong Bay ... doing nothing again!
Today was our last full day in
When we left our hotel we went in the direction opposite to the
tourist wharf, looking for someplace to have breakfast. We saw a large cable
bridge from our boat trip yesterday and after breakfast we decided to head down
that way to check things out. To be honest there wasn't that much different up
that side of the city. We did come across a very well decorated 'Christmas'
boat as well as many other boats from fishing boats to barges to super tankers.
We eventually walked all the way round to the large cable bridge where we found
a shipping port with some more large freight ships docked for
loading/unloading.
The cable bridge lead over to one of the islands that was being
developed with tourist facilities, hotels, restaurants and more shops and as we
hadn't found anything of interest so far, we decided to give walking across it
a miss.
So off we head back to our hotel where we watched more movies on
tv. Now this felt a bit more like boxing day/St Stephens day. Later that
evening we went out for dinner and tried one of the nearby restaurants. Again
the food was very similar and if you were a seafood loving person, it would of
been right up your alley, but for me, it was just more of the same! After
dinner we headed back to our hotel again where I watched the boxing day
premership action and Caroline read her book. Another uneventful day in
