Day 32 - A quiet Christmas Eve in Halong Bay
We got a sleep in this morning, only reason being the fact that
we couldn't think of anything better to do! Looking out the window of the
hotel, there didn't look to be any more life about the area so we just decided
to go grab breakfast and take a walk back towards the tourist wharf that we
arrived at first yesterday. We grabbed breakfast, more eggs, that's about all
you can get for breakfast over here if you don't want noodle soup or fried rice
for breakfast. For all the restaurants in
The tourist wharf was packed with tourists as it was yesterday,
but today we noticed that these are all either getting on or getting off the
boats. It is possible to go on a half day, full day or 3 day boat trip around
the islands. Had we known when we were booking this leg of the trip, we probably
would of opted for the 3 day boat cruise around the islands for Christmas. Well
as the boat trips looked so good, we decided that we would book one for
tomorrow, Christmas day. It would make for a different Christmas day!
We found an agent and booked the 6 hour day trip including lunch
on the boat, entrance to the caves and kayacking. Once we had this done we
headed back to the hotel, where we spent the rest of the day watching Christmas
movies on TV. Well I suppose this was like something that I would do at home on
Christmas Eve!
