My hometown

Kota Bharu is the state capital of Kelantan, situated on the north east coast of peninsular Malaysia, is calm and peaceful, offers outlook on the traditional Malay culture and architecture • museums and royal palace, the countryside - rustic fishing villages, verdant padi fields and palm-fringed beaches and also lush nature.

·         Beaches

The most famous is the Pantai Cinta Berahi (Beach of Passionate Love), now called Pantai Cahaya Bulan (Moonlit Beach)

Stroll along the beach, enjoy the cool breeze or take refreshments from the many seafood stalls

·         Pasar (Markets)

The famous market is Kota Bharu is Pasar Siti Khadijah (Kota Bharu Central Market),

contains both wet and dry markets.

Traditional Malay Architecture
This lively market sells fresh vegetables, fruits, fish and meat (wet market) and dried fish, spices and textile (dry market), always has a bustling, vibrant atmosphere.

It is noted that many of the vendors are women.

Bazar Buluh Kubu is best to find batik, colourful painted textile using wax resist dyeing technique.

The logo of Malaysia Airlines (MAS) is based on this kite.
